Our Autumn Recipe for the Perfect Mulled Wine

We've turned this traditional brew into something magical. Over the years the recipe for mulled wine has evolved with the tastes and fashions of the time. Though traditionally served at Christmas time, we've transformed this European classic into an Autumn brew sure to delight!



-4 cups apple cider⁠

-1 (750-ml) bottle red wine⁠

-1/4 real maple syrup-Grade B is the best⁠

-2 cinnamon sticks ⁠

-1 orange, zested and juiced⁠

-4 whole cloves ⁠

-3 star anise ⁠

-½ cup of bourbon (or Brandy if you must)⁠


Combine the cider, maple syrup, cinnamon sticks, zest, juice, cloves and star anise in a large saucepan, bring to boil. Turn off the stove and let cool.⁠

Add your wine and bourbon, simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Do not boil. ⁠

Pour through the Drink Perfector in each mug to make sure you get the perfect temperture.

Add an orange peel to each and serve.⁠
